Submittal Policy

All submissions should call the Church to practice resurrection—to participate in the Triune God’s ongoing work of renewal and transformation—so that the mission of New Fire might be realized in congregations and communities.

We welcome submissions that fit some of the following categories:

Igniting Renewal: Resources that encourage congregations, leaders, and laity within the UMC and beyond to receive the fresh fire of the Holy Spirit.

Forming Disciples: Resources that help people learn and grow in scriptural imagination, Christlike love, holiness, and justice.

Grounded in the Rich Tradition of Christian Theology: Materials rooted in Wesleyan theology and open to the breadth of the Christian experience.

Practical Guidance: Books, curriculum, small-group studies, liturgical resources, devotionals, and essays that can be readily used in local churches.

Tell Transformative Stories: Narratives of congregational renewal, spiritual awakening, or innovative ministry that point to God’s resurrecting work.

Foster Community: Content that sparks dialogue, mutual learning, and connection among Christians.

Hopeful & Prophetic: Honest about challenges yet centered on God’s ability to bring resurrection and new life.

When you submit, please include:

Cover Letter (1–2 pages): Briefly introduce yourself, your background, and your connection to the New Fire mission.

Summary of the Work: 250–500 words explaining the purpose, target audience, and how the piece supports the mission of New Fire Press.

Manuscript or Sample: Full manuscript or a representative section (at least one chapter or module).

Outline & Intended Use: For curriculum or liturgical materials, provide a session-by-session outline and suggested settings (churches, small groups, retreats, etc.).

Author Bio and Contact Information

Submissions will be reviewed based on:

Alignment with Mission: Does it advance the resurrecting work of God in the Church?

Clarity and Accessibility: Is it written in an engaging and usable style?

Theological Soundness: Is it consistent with the Wesleyan tradition and broadly ecumenical?

Practical Impact: Will it be useful for congregations or leaders in their ministry?

Originality and Creativity: Does it bring fresh insights or approaches?

Initial review typically takes 8–12 weeks.

Selected authors will receive next steps about editing, publication, and marketing.

Authors retain copyright but grant New Fire Press a license to publish and distribute the work. We will negotiate royalties and permissions on a case-by-case basis.
